Samsung WEP200: Headset Bluetooth Berdesain Mungil

Headset Samsung

Faktor disain tetap menjadi kiblat utama para pabrikan perangkat wireless dalam mengembangkan produknya, tak terkecuali vendor sekelas Samsung. Beragam inovasi terbaru pun turut dihadirkan. Satu diantaranya, headset Bluetooth yang bermerek dagang Samsung WEP200.

Bentuk fisiknya serupa headset bluetooth kebanyakan, lonjong namun tetap stylist. Ketimbang Jabra JX10 maupun Nokia BH-800, headset karya pabrikan asal Korea ini terbilang super kompak dan mungil. Wajar, bentangan disain ergonomisnya kurang dari 4 cm. Sementara bobotnya hanya 9 gram.

Sekali isi ulang baterainya mampu bertahan hingga 2,5 hari. [26 September 2007]

The teeny, tiny WEP200 lets you make voice calls, redial numbers and look relatively inconspicuous while you're chatting in public. Will your wireless buddies hear you loud and clear?

Design - Very good

Measuring just 1.5 by 0.5 by 0.5 inches and weighing in at just 0.3 ounces, the diminutive WEP200 is one of the smallest Bluetooth headsets we've tested. This little black bug of a device fit snugly in our ear, and we never felt like it was at risk of slipping loose. That said, pressing the multifunction control and the relatively tiny volume keys was a bit awkward. A blue LED indicates whether you're connected or in pairing mode by flashing at different rates -- workable, but we would have preferred a multi-colored indicator light.

Call handling - Very good

The WEP200 did a good job of dealing with our calls; we had no trouble answering and ending calls, and we managed to take a second call and swap callers with ease, although we weren't able to set up conference calls. The headset also lets you redial the last call and initiate voice calling.

Pairing and call quality - Very good

We paired the WEP200 with the Samsung SGH-T509 and the Palm Treo 700p; in each case, pairing took just a few seconds, and both phones reconnected to the headset without a hitch. We were initially a little worried about call quality on the WEP200 given that the headset's mic sat so far away from our mouth; however, in our tests, our conversations sounded loud and clear on both ends. The headset is rated for 4 hours of talk time and close to 3 days of standby time, not bad for a device this small.
